WOYWW - Week 242

WOYWW? - What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday #242.

This is what my work desk looked like today:

I'm working on several things at once...one of them being these bunny girls.  I'm taking an online class from Teresa McFayden, which has been a lot of fun!

I don't know why I drew her neck so long, but my 7 year old daughter hates it!  She can be a little dramatic, but she says she can't even look at it because it "freaks her out"!

Here's a stamp that I'm making for the envelopes of the postcard swap.  It was meant to be a mail bird, but my hubby thinks it looks like a school bird.

Here's #10 - the last postcard for the swap!  It just needs some words in the oval.....something about wings maybe.

Head on over to Julia Dunnit's blog to check out other creative work spaces!

First 7 Postcards for the International Postcard Swap

I've been having a ton of fun in my studio, making postcards for the postcard swap over at Musings On Realities.  Although I've had my new studio space since November, I didn't really move in until this month.  It's SO nice to be able to start a project and leave it out.....and to have all your supplies in one place.....and working with no interruptions.

Some of these will be getting some text added to them, but 7 out of 10 are (mostly) finished!

Happy New Year!

(photo's via Miss Retro's Blog)

It's been a while since I've been online! I took a little "staycation", and hung out with friends and family, doing the turkey thing, the potato latkes thing, the Santa thing, the ice skating thing....the ear infection thing...ugh.

Oh my creative juices are flowing, and I've been sketching new images for my glass necklaces, and started a new batch of crow and bird sculptures. I love new beginnings, and am looking forward to 2012. I'm looking forward to trying new things, and joining in on more swaps (if you know of any great ones let me know!!). My fist swap of the year will be the paper/ephemera swap. It's an ongoing swap, with monthly themes, but this will be my first time joining in. Who doesn't need more paper stuff?!

Altered Slide Mount Book Swap Pages

Our local ATC trade group hosted a swap: an "Altered Slide Mount Book". 25 people signed up, so we all made 25 pages to trade out with each other, to create a little altered book. I used to do swaps all the time, and always had several on the go....but I'm just so, so busy these days, that I can't commit to swapping as much.

Here's a sampling of some of my pages that I made. I had an extra page, so I kept it behind and I think I'm going to turn this one into a necklace to keep for myself!

Here's a snapshot of my booth at "Artful Sundays" on Commercial Drive yesterday. haha - think I have enough table coverings? Can you believe that I'd probably add more if I had them in my "kit"?! By this time of year, I'm so tired of my whole booth and fantasize about changing the whole thing up!

Valentine Door Hanger Swap

The Canadian Chickies group has another swap going on: "Retro Valentines Door Hanger Swap". I made this for my partner, but I'm a little worried that I didn't really to a "retro" themed hanger.

Hopefully I've made up for it by using a box of chocolates as part of my swap!

I just need to add a ribbon hanger on the top and it's all done.

On the 10th, 11th and 12th Day of Christmas...

12 days of X-Mas group:

On the 10th day of Christmas......the post office elves decided to hold on to this one for a while! When they decide to let it go, and it arrives in my mailbox I'll be sure to take photo's and share!

On the 11th day of Christmas...

...Tina Abbott made us a piece of encaustic art!

On the 12th day of Christmas...(I got a little over-zealous and started opening it before I took the wrapped photo!)

...Lelainia Lloyd made this custom jersey pouch...

...with a trio of handmade journals!

One is going into my purse right away! I'm always writing things down on little scraps of paper...it will be nice to have those one-liner ideas all in one spot now!

I'm finally able to show you what Penelope Harris made for us - a "Queen of the Arts" plaster plaque!

Canadian Chickies group:

On the 10th day of Christmas....

....Nicolette made this retro collaged tree ornament!

On the 11th day of Christmas...

...I made these paper/fabric/vintage wallpaper stockings....

...with a holiday themed scrabble tile necklace, and bottle cap brooch pin!

On the 12th day of Christmas...

...Cindy made these little altered dolls - a snowman!

These swaps were SO MUCH FUN, and I'm looking forward for the next swaps already! Wishing everyone a happy, happy Christmas!
