Summer Markets Have Begun

It's been busy around these parts!  The weather's improving and the outdoor shows have begun!  Here's my booth at the Ladner Village Market last Sunday:

Here's my booth set up at the Vancouver Mini Maker Faire (part of the mini Got Craft? group).  I had just bought that vintage 3-tiered lamp there on the left - I LOVE it!

My kids, taking a little break at Sports Day.  They're growing up fast!

My hubby and I dropped the kids of at "Oma's and Tante's" over the Victoria Day long weekend and had a fun weekend away on our scooters!

I started selling my wares at a store attached to the Vancouver Public Library's main branch downtown, called Book'mark.

Nearing the End of Summer

It's almost the end of Summer break for the kids and things are winding down. It's been a fun and busy time around here! I've been super busy with Summer markets, and the kids have been busy doing the usual Summer things (like swimming lessons, bike/scooter riding, park play, Summer fair etc.).

Here's some snapshots of some of the things I've been making for the markets.

I have some new items, which include these teeny-tiny smashed bottle cap earrings, and brass necklaces.

I'm loving the vintage look of the brass.

We were scooter-riding around English Bay and stopped for a bit at the beach.

I just have a few more markets left this summer - one of them is this Sunday on Commercial Drive - "Artful Sundays".

Here's some photo's of my booth from an earlier date this year. There was a cancellation for this Sunday (the last market date of the year), so I was able to do one more date! If you're in Vancouver, and in the neighbourhood, it's in Napier Greenway (Napier St. @ Commercial Dr.), from 12pm to 5pm.

School starts Tuesday - woo-hoo!!!!

Farmers Market Recap

My laaaaaast Summer Farmers Market was yesterday! The tent can be put away for another year.....no time for rest though. Those Winter fairs are just around the corner!

I discovered the BEST preserves EVER yesterday at the market from "Wild Westcoast Rainforest Products". This Wild Blackberry Pepper Jelly is absolutely amazing. Seriously. I've never had preserves as good as hers! The Blackberry Rose Jelly was pretty delicious too!....and get this - her last name is "Canning"!....and her dentist's last name is "Smiley"!

I bought some fresh cheese at the market too, and enjoyed them on some crunchy crackers.

These Earthgirl soaps are also pretty great!

I meant to buy some of these coffee soaps, but I got too busy to drop by.

Purebread - "Unique handmade breads"......I don't even have words to describe their baked goods. If you see them at the market, you have to buy something....anything from them! You'll know what I mean!

This time of year is the best for farm veggies. All the stalls are bursting with fresh and colourful fruits and veggies. You should see the garlic....and smell the basil.....and the tomatoes.....

The markets run until October 23rd....if you live near a market, be sure to drop by!

Also - mark your calendars! The Vancouver Farmers Markets - HOLIDAY market will be on Saturday (only) - December 11
10am - 6pm, at the Croatian Cultural Centre, 3250 Commercial Drive. I plan on doing most of my Christmas shopping at this market!
