WOYWW? - 155
What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday - week 155. Today's Wednesday - the day to head over to Julia Dunnit's blog: Stamping Ground to take a peek into people's work desks! Today I'm working on repurposing some bottle caps into magnets and brooches. A local store has requested a stock re-fresher, and I'm also participating in a market: "Portobello West Fashion and Art Market" on Saturday and Sunday.
The assembly line:
Here's some bottle caps at my table from last weekend (I was outdoors in the POURING rain!):

What a job! They are fun to work with aren't they? Do you heat the bottle caps to remove the rubber ring inside or are these purchased bottle caps?
ReplyDeleteHi Darla! No, I don't remove the rubber ring - I just work around them. l've worked with the smooth (purchased) caps before, and they're a dream to work with, but the rubber ones are much more accessible to me.
DeleteThese are great, I love the ones with all the different faces. Barb 170

Thanks Jennifer. It gets bothersome removing the rubber ring..I love how yours look.
ReplyDeleteOh you reminded me of when I used to do this to bottlecaps, I really went through a faze of using them in my art or just about anything that I could do with them. Love yours and so many, bet you have bottlecap shaped eyes at night........ LOL

Hi Jennifer. Holy moly - that is one production line there!! I love the bottle cap craftiness. I've not tried it before but I think you've inspired me. I've seen them in the store and thought about trying them but talked myself out of it. So do you seal them with Mod Podge?
