Nearing the End of Summer
It's almost the end of Summer break for the kids and things are winding down. It's been a fun and busy time around here! I've been super busy with Summer markets, and the kids have been busy doing the usual Summer things (like swimming lessons, bike/scooter riding, park play, Summer fair etc.).
Here's some snapshots of some of the things I've been making for the markets.
I have some new items, which include these teeny-tiny smashed bottle cap earrings, and brass necklaces.
I'm loving the vintage look of the brass.
Scooter girl in action:
We were scooter-riding around English Bay and stopped for a bit at the beach.
I just have a few more markets left this summer - one of them is this Sunday on Commercial Drive - "Artful Sundays".
Here's some photo's of my booth from an earlier date this year. There was a cancellation for this Sunday (the last market date of the year), so I was able to do one more date! If you're in Vancouver, and in the neighbourhood, it's in Napier Greenway (Napier St. @ Commercial Dr.), from 12pm to 5pm.
School starts Tuesday - woo-hoo!!!!

Another Year Older
Yesterday was my birthday! One of my favourite artists is Cathy Cullis. I had bought one of her paintings (the one on the left) recently, and my mom gave me the one on the right for my birthday!
She also gave me this doll head:
My son is NOT impressed with "the baby's bloody nose" (and actually gags when he looks at it).
Here's the cards that my kids made. I'll definitely be keeping these.....and probably pulling them out when they're 13 lol.
Yesterday my hubby came home with 15 red roses to celebrate our 15 years together. Our house smells niiiiiiice!
I Haven't Disappeared!
I've disappeared! lol - not really. I've been in Vancouver, but just super, super busy! Busy with markets, festivals and fairs, and busy with the family too. We've been enjoying the summer holiday! Here we are hanging out at White Rock beach:
Yesterday I was set up at the "Bloom" market in Fort Langley:
It was HOT.....but FUN! Great music, great vendors, great weather and great shoppers!
Check out this awesome vendor who was set up right across from me: Carmen West Creative. She makes fantastic jewellery and accessories, and had a super-duper set up! I just LOVED her vintage big-eyed business card holder!
Here's snippets of my table at night:

A Busy Summer
Another busy week has passed! Our friends live on a block where the houses turned 100 years old this week...
...they had a fun block party with lots of good food, good music, and good neighbourly chatter.
My friends mom made some kids games, like this bean bag toss:
Check out this awesome neighbourhood book exchange! "Got a book that you don't need? Leave it here for others to read. Consider it a neighbourly deed".
I've been burning the midnight oil all week, filling a HUGE wholesale greeting card order.
Hope you're all enjoying your Summer!!
